Flea Control for Cats and Kittens
Merial Frontline Plus Flea and Tick Control for Cats and Kittens, 6 Doses

flea treatment
Frontline products are highly recommended by veterinarians for tick and flea control for dogs and cats. For cat owners who want long-lasting, fast-acting flea treatment, tick, and chewing lice control, Frontline Plus guarantees control on cats aged 8 weeks and older. You only have to apply Frontline Plus once a month, so a 6-Dose supply will provide you with up to 6 months of convenient, highly effective flea, flea egg, chewing lice, and tick control.
Frontline Plus kills up to 100% of existing fleas in less than 24 hours and continues, on a single dose, killing them for at least an entire month. Its special ingredient also kills flea eggs and larvae, which, in effect, prevents the development of new fleas. It destroys all stages of 4 major ticks, including ticks that may carry Lyme disease, which provides your cat and your family with additional protection. Frontline Plus is waterproof, so your cat will still be protected if it bathes or goes for a swim. Merial backs up Frontline Plus with a limited Satisfaction Guarantee.
Using Frontline Plus is a simple 3-step process. First, remove the applicator from the child-resistant package, use scissors or just lift the plastic tab to expose the foil, and then peel down. Secondly, open the applicator, hold it upright, and snap the tip away from your face and body. Finally, apply Frontline Plus by placing the applicator tip through your cat’s hair to the skin between the shoulder blades. Squeeze the applicator to apply the entire dose to a single spot on the cat’s skin.

Worthy Informations About Pet Services:

First, Frontline does not work as well as AdvanTix. Second, the product is known to be toxic (read the new scientific studies). Third, for some reason Merial thinks that Cesar Millan is a good advocate for Merial. What is common to all three of these issues – bad news for your pet. Besides that, the stuff is smelly stinky! If you care enough for your pet to purchase expensive products – look elsewhere!

I have mixed this in with my “Uranium Ore by Images SI Inc.” and right then and there out popped a dragon! we talked for a while about quantum physics and the creation of the universe and then he said, “get on my back and we’ll ride around the magical mountains of Montana!
Pro: Works great for magic!
Con: Doesn’t work on my cats fleas, dragons may eat you in your hallucination.

Don’t be fooled by these bogus reviews. This stuff does not kill fleas. I have tried it twice on my cats and they got no relief either time. None. Advantage is expensive but within an hour I have seen dead fleas on my computer table when one of my cats sits there with me while I’m online. And they’re obviously more comfortable in the days after the treatment. I don’t know if Frontline works on ticks and I have not tried any other products to kill fleas.

Soon after applying the frontline medication my cat freaked out and went outside and has yet to come back indoors. He has been an indoor cat for over 8 years (he’s 11 now) He seems fine but the fact that he refuses to come indoors concerns me. I also found a tick!!!!! I called Merial and they informed me to NOT purchase medication on line even from “safe” brokers ie. Amazon.com My advice is to purchase frontline or any other similar product from your local vet. I feel almost blessed thinking what could have happened to my beloved Pekoe.

Some interesting comments here. It is interesting that Scott W. Johnson says that fipronil is toxic and recommends Advtantix instead. Don’t get me wrong, Advantix is a great and effective product, but when it comes to toxicity you are more likely to have a problem with Advtantix as it contains permethrin. Permethrin is quite toxic to cats and can cause some serious problems.
As far as things go for Frontline not working, there has been some discussion that frontline does not seems as effective against fleas as it once was. The people at Merial follow up cases where Frontline appears not to be effective, and most of the time it is our fault that our pets have fleas, not the product.
